Green Bay, Wisconsin – Strong storms are set to roll across Wisconsin through midweek, with the first round arriving Tuesday evening and additional severe weather possible into Wednesday. Residents should be prepared for heavy rainfall, damaging winds, and large hail, especially from Green Bay west to Eau Claire and south to Stevens Point.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, isolated to scattered storms are expected to develop late Tuesday afternoon, particularly near the edge of a high-pressure dome. The threat will linger into Wednesday morning, with new rounds of stronger storms developing by afternoon. The risk of damaging wind, large hail, and locally heavy rainfall will be highest along the U.S. Highway 29 corridor and areas north, including Wausau, Rhinelander, and Rice Lake.
Potential hazards include downed trees, power outages, and localized flash flooding, especially in low-lying or poorly drained areas. Drivers are urged to avoid flooded roads and secure outdoor items that could become projectiles in high winds. If thunder roars, move indoors, and ensure weather alerts are enabled on mobile devices.
Storm activity may not impact every community each day, but those in marginal or slight risk zones should stay weather-aware. The National Weather Service will issue additional advisories if conditions change. Warnings remain in effect through Wednesday evening.
