According to the National Weather Service, there’s a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the Las Vegas area beginning after 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17th, increasing into the evening. While many neighborhoods will remain dry, any isolated storm could cause sudden wind gusts up to 23 mph and minor flooding near low-lying roads like US-95 and I-15.
Friday ramps up the chances, with a 40% likelihood of afternoon thunderstorms and highs near 101°F. Residents should stay weather-aware, especially during outdoor activities or travel. Keep phones charged and avoid desert trail hikes after noon.
The weekend outlook stays hot and slightly unsettled. Saturday brings a slight thunderstorm chance after 11 a.m. but remains mostly sunny with a high near 104°F. Overnight lows will hover in the low 80s through early next week.
