Philadelphia, PA – Scattered thunderstorms could trigger flash flooding across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware tonight, followed by dangerous heat and humidity pushing the heat index above 100°F Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, a Slight Risk of flash flooding exists this evening into the overnight hours as storms may produce rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Localized totals could reach 4 inches, especially in low-lying or urban areas such as Philadelphia, Trenton, and Wilmington.

Drivers should avoid flooded roads and monitor alerts, particularly along I-95, the New Jersey Turnpike, and in flood-prone zones like Camden and Toms River. The ground remains saturated in several spots, raising the risk of rapid runoff.

On Thursday, a Heat Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with “feels-like” temperatures expected to hit 102°F or higher in Allentown, Vineland, and Atlantic City. Heat-related illnesses are likely without proper precautions. Residents should stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity, and check on vulnerable neighbors.

Humidity and storm chances will ease slightly by Friday, but residents should stay alert—additional advisories may follow.
