Tulsa, Oklahoma – Relentless rain will drench eastern Oklahoma through Monday, raising flash flood concerns and triggering dangerous travel conditions in and around Tulsa.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, thunderstorms will continue overnight and intensify Monday, July 14. As much as 6 inches of rain may fall in parts of Creek, Okmulgee, Tulsa, and Wagoner counties, where a Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 a.m. CDT Monday. Localized flooding is ongoing and could worsen, especially in low-lying or flood-prone areas.

Key cities in the flood zone include Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Jenks, Glenpool, Bixby, and Sapulpa. Motorists should avoid high water and never attempt to drive through flooded roadways. Flooding is already impacting area roads, especially near U.S. Highway 75 and State Highway 97 in Sand Springs. Rain will taper slightly Monday night but may return midweek.

Emergency managers may activate local spotter networks Monday afternoon if strong storms redevelop. The heavy rain threat could linger into Monday night, especially if new storms form behind the current low-pressure system.
