Spokane, Washington – Triple-digit heat is set to scorch Eastern Washington this weekend, with Spokane and surrounding areas climbing toward 105°F by Sunday afternoon. Drivers on I-90 and residents in Spokane Valley, Cheney, and Coeur d’Alene should prepare now for potentially dangerous heat-related impacts.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, a Heat Advisory remains in effect from 12 p.m. Sunday to 8 p.m. Monday, covering much of the Columbia Basin, including Ferry, Whitman, and Adams counties. Daytime highs will peak between 95°F and 105°F, with overnight lows only dropping to the upper 60s — limiting relief for homes without air conditioning.

Fairfield, Moses Lake, Post Falls, and Othello will also see heat indices soar Sunday and Monday. The NWS warns this kind of prolonged heat can trigger heat exhaustion or stroke. Spokane residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid midday outdoor activity, and check on neighbors. If your home lacks cooling, even a few hours in a public cooling center or library can lower your health risk.

Spokane’s Felts Field will see highs of 96°F Sunday and Monday with clear skies, making sun exposure especially intense. Calm winds under 7 mph offer little cooling relief.

Five-Day Forecast for Spokane (July 13–17):

  • Sunday: Sunny and hot, high 96°F
  • Monday: Sunny again, high 96°F
  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high 86°F
  • Wednesday: Sunny, high 87°F
  • Thursday: Sunny, hotter again with highs near 96°F

Heat remains the top hazard through Monday evening. More advisories may follow if high temperatures persist into late week.
