Spokane, WA – A dangerous stretch of extreme summer heat is moving into Spokane, with daytime highs climbing to 99°F by Tuesday and lasting through midweek. Residents should prepare now for the risk of heat-related illness, especially during outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, highs will steadily rise from 82°F Saturday to 95°F Monday, peaking near 99°F on Tuesday. Overnight lows will offer little relief, staying in the 60s throughout the week. Calm winds and abundant sunshine are expected, creating ideal conditions for rapid heat buildup.

Outdoor workers and vulnerable populations—including the elderly, young children, and those without air conditioning—should take extra precautions. Spokane County health officials recommend drinking plenty of water, avoiding strenuous tasks during peak hours (1–6 p.m.), and checking in on neighbors.

The upcoming heat wave is one of the region’s most intense this season and will continue through at least Independence Day. Local officials are also monitoring fire danger in rural areas west of Spokane, where dry grasses and light winds could increase ignition risk.

5-Day Outlook for Spokane, WA:

  • Sunday: Sunny, high of 89°F, calm wind
  • Monday: Sunny, high of 95°F, low 62°F
  • Tuesday: Hot and sunny, high near 99°F
  • Wednesday: Sunny, high of 94°F, low 60°F
