Clarksville, MO – A tornado that touched down Wednesday morning in eastern Missouri during a round of severe storms has been officially rated EF-1 by the National Weather Service.

The tornado developed in Pike County, Missouri, just south of Clarksville, and crossed the Mississippi River into Calhoun County, Illinois. It remained on the ground for approximately four minutes, from 10:55 a.m. to 10:59 a.m., before dissipating.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, the EF-1 tornado produced maximum winds of 104 mph and carved a path 3.6 miles long and 100 yards wide. No injuries or fatalities were reported as a result of the tornado.

The event was part of a broader outbreak of severe weather that moved through eastern Missouri and southern Illinois on Wednesday. The storm system brought damaging winds, heavy rain, and multiple weather alerts across the region, including tornado watches and thunderstorm warnings.

Emergency management teams and weather officials have been surveying the damage, particularly in areas near Clarksville and across the river in Calhoun County. While structural damage has been reported, the full extent remains under assessment.

Residents in the affected regions are urged to remain weather-aware as storm activity continues through the week.
