Birmingham, Alabama – A soggy stretch is setting in across Alabama, with a high likelihood of daily rain and thunderstorms continuing through midweek. Most cities, including Birmingham, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa, face at least a 65–75% chance of rain every afternoon through Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, the greatest chance of storms will occur during the afternoon and evening hours. While the rain may not be constant, brief but heavy downpours could quickly soak roadways and neighborhoods. From Saturday, June 15 through Wednesday, June 19, daily precipitation chances will remain above 60% in nearly every major city in central Alabama.

Localized flash flooding is possible in low-lying areas and streets with poor drainage, especially during intense bursts of rain. Commuters are urged to slow down on wet roads, and residents should stay weather-aware as storms may bring lightning and gusty winds. While not a total washout, the week ahead will require umbrellas and patience.

Storm activity is expected to taper slightly by Thursday, but chances for rain remain. Additional updates will be issued as conditions evolve.
