Pontiac Correctional Center inmate dies of COVID-19

PONTIAC – An inmate at Pontiac Correctional Center (PCC) has died of complications related to COVID-19. The Livingston County Health Department reported the news Friday afternoon after being notified in accordance with state and local public health protocol.

The inmate who died was in his 60s. At least three other inmates at PCC had tested positive for COVID-19 to start he weekend.

Snce the pandemic began, offiicals have reported 1,059 postive cases of COVID among some 23,000+ tests to be processed locally. Over 400 of those cases remain active. So far, 15 Livingston County residents have died due to complications related to COVID-19.
