Detroit, Michigan – Southeast Michigan will start the weekend on a cool and dry note, but residents should brace for a 20-degree temperature jump by Tuesday as a warming trend builds across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, today’s highs will range from 59 to 67 degrees under mostly dry skies. Sunday remains dry with slightly warmer highs near 67–72°, but temperatures will still be below seasonal averages.

The real shift begins Monday, with highs climbing into the low 80s and continuing upward through Tuesday, when much warmer air pushes temperatures to 87° in parts of the metro area. The trend signals the start of early summer conditions, with humidity expected to rise midweek.

Outdoor plans this weekend should be comfortable, but anyone with heat sensitivity should plan accordingly for the early-week heat. Hydration, shaded areas, and limited exertion during peak hours are recommended.

No major rain threats are expected during this period, and calm conditions should hold through Tuesday. NWS says further warming could follow, with more updates expected Monday.
