Pittsburgh, PA – Rain will push north into western Pennsylvania this afternoon, soaking much of the region in waves through early Wednesday. Pittsburgh commuters should expect wet roads by 6 p.m., while areas along I-80 may not see any rainfall until after midnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, the rain is advancing steadily northward, beginning around noon in counties near the West Virginia border—including Tucker and Preston—before reaching Zanesville, OH and Morgantown, WV by 2 p.m. Confidence in timing is highest for locations south of Pittsburgh.

Motorists in Belmont, Washington, and Monongalia counties could experience slick roads just in time for the evening rush. By 4 p.m., rain is expected to affect Coshocton and Carroll counties, moving into Allegheny County—including Pittsburgh—by 6 p.m.

Drivers should reduce speed, check headlights, and avoid hydroplaning risks on highways like I-70 and Route 22. In northern counties such as Clarion and Forest, precipitation may be delayed or remain minimal through early Wednesday.

Showers will linger into the early morning hours, with the heaviest activity tapering off south of I-80. Another round of alerts is possible if rainfall totals increase or thunderstorm threats emerge overnight.
