Buffalo, N.Y. – Dry and seasonably warm weather will dominate across Western and Central New York today, with temperatures climbing into the low- to mid-70s from Buffalo to Watertown. Clouds will gradually increase this afternoon, setting the stage for a midweek shift in conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, a low-pressure system advancing from the Ohio Valley will bring the next round of rain beginning late Wednesday. Showers are expected to move from southwest to northeast, with the heaviest rain likely overnight and into early Thursday.

Communities along I-90—including Rochester, Batavia, and Syracuse—should expect reduced visibility and wet roads Wednesday night. Lighter rainfall is possible farther east in the North Country, but all regions will see cloudier skies and cooler temperatures as the system moves through.

Residents are advised to take advantage of today’s dry window to prepare for wet travel conditions later this week. Drivers should allow extra time for commutes late Wednesday and Thursday morning.

Rainfall could linger into early Thursday, with additional updates expected from the NWS as the system approaches.
