Indianapolis, Indiana – After one of the coldest Indy 500 weekends in recent memory, Central Indiana is enjoying a warmer and drier Memorial Day with highs between 70 and 73 degrees and light cloud cover.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, Monday’s sunshine will give way to increasing clouds overnight, with lows dipping into the mid-50s. Rain chances will begin climbing early Tuesday, with scattered showers likely by morning and a chance of thunderstorms later in the day.
Cities across the region, including Bloomington, Muncie, and Lafayette, can expect a noticeable shift by Tuesday afternoon, with highs in the upper 60s and periods of rain potentially disrupting travel and outdoor plans. Commuters are advised to monitor road conditions as visibility and traction could become a concern during the morning rush.
Residents should keep devices charged and consider rescheduling any early Tuesday activities. While Monday remains dry, umbrellas will be essential through midweek.
Additional advisories may be issued overnight as rain coverage increases. Updates from the National Weather Service are expected early Tuesday morning.
