Gaylord, Michigan – Patchy frost blanketed parts of Northern Michigan early Sunday, but residents can expect a dramatic weather shift just in time for Memorial Day celebrations.

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, a Frost Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. Sunday across counties including Otsego, Leelanau, Antrim, Crawford, and Wexford. Temperatures dipped as low as 33°F overnight, putting sensitive outdoor vegetation at risk. Gardeners are urged to check their plants this morning and remove coverings once the sun is up.

Memorial Day will offer nearly perfect summer weather, with sunny skies and highs near 68°F in Gaylord. Winds will shift from the northwest to the northeast by afternoon, making it ideal for parades, lake outings, and backyard barbecues. Monday night will stay dry with a low around 43°F.
