Binghamton, N.Y. – Dry skies and a warming trend will stretch across New York and northern Pennsylvania through Memorial Day, but a midweek cold front is expected to bring back rain and drop temperatures by Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, high pressure is building into the region, keeping precipitation chances below 20% in most areas through Monday. Cities like Syracuse, Elmira, and Wilkes-Barre are expected to reach the low to mid-70s by Tuesday afternoon.
Rain chances will return late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with areas like Ithaca and Towanda seeing a 50% probability of showers by 6 a.m. Wednesday. Roads may become slick during the early commute, and residents should plan accordingly.
While Sunday and Monday remain ideal for outdoor plans, the return of rain by midweek could dampen travel and outdoor events. Residents are advised to stay weather-aware and check local alerts as the low-pressure system approaches.
Temperatures are expected to drop back into the 60s on Wednesday before rebounding late week. Updates will follow as Wednesday’s system develops.
