Tallahassee, Florida – Drivers in North Florida should prepare for another sweltering Spring Monday as temperatures in Tallahassee soar to 95°F, with patchy morning fog threatening reduced visibility along US Highway 319 and surrounding roads.
According to the National Weather Service, fog could linger through 10 a.m. Monday before skies clear and heat builds sharply by midday. Calm morning winds will give way to a light south breeze, offering little relief from the high temperatures expected across Leon County and surrounding areas.
Monday night remains mostly clear with lows around 70°F, but fog may redevelop after 2 a.m., continuing the pattern of reduced early morning visibility through Tuesday. Tuesday’s highs will once again reach the mid-90s, reinforcing a summerlike feel for mid-May.
By Wednesday afternoon, conditions begin to shift. A 40% chance of thunderstorms enters the picture, bringing the potential for brief heavy rain and lightning after 2 p.m. Another round of storms may move through before 8 p.m. Wednesday night, with lows dipping to around 68°F.
Locals are urged to avoid non-essential travel during foggy hours, use headlights in low visibility, and remain hydrated throughout the heat. Keep devices charged ahead of potential midweek storms.
