According to the National Weather Service, a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms will move into the area Monday evening, with more widespread rain possible Tuesday night when the precipitation chance rises to 50%. Drivers along I-77 and I-85 should prepare for possible delays during Tuesday evening’s commute.

Temperatures will climb to a high near 84°F on Monday with mostly sunny skies before clouds and humidity increase late in the day. Tuesday will bring another warm spring afternoon near 84°F, but rain chances rise after 2 p.m., continuing into Tuesday night. Rainfall could lead to ponding on roads and brief localized flooding.

By Wednesday, a 40% chance of showers lingers as high temperatures reach the mid-80s. Roads may still be slick early, and scattered showers could extend into mid-morning.
