Wilmington, Delaware – Spring sunshine won’t last long across Delaware, as gusty winds on Monday give way to rain showers by Tuesday night.

According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see a high near 76°F on Monday, with northwest winds reaching 20 mph and gusts topping 35 mph. Commuters using I-95 and I-495 should be alert for sudden crosswinds, especially near river overpasses and open stretches.

Showers are likely to begin after 2 a.m. Wednesday, with a 50% chance of precipitation Tuesday night and a bump to 90% on Wednesday. Morning commuters could face slick roads and slower travel on major routes like Route 13 and I-295.

Wednesday will stay wet with a high near 61°F and showers expected to continue into the night. Rainfall could impact school activities, outdoor plans, and road visibility.

Looking ahead, Thursday remains unsettled, with showers likely and a high near 63°F. Friday offers a brief dry window, though a chance of showers lingers. Temperatures will hover in the low 70s through Saturday, with improving skies.

Stay weather-aware and avoid unnecessary travel during heavier showers. The next weather update will be issued if rainfall totals or timing shift.
