Davenport, Iowa – Cooler air and gusty winds will dominate the weekend across the Quad Cities region, with thunderstorms likely to develop late Sunday and intensify into early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Davenport, high temperatures on Saturday will reach the low 70s south of the Quad Cities, with sustained northwest winds of 20–30 mph and gusts up to 35 mph. Sunday brings calmer conditions early, but showers and thunderstorms are expected after 6 p.m. south of Interstate 80 as winds shift from the northeast.

Strong storms are possible Monday with highs in the 60s and wind gusts topping 30 mph. Rain becomes widespread by Tuesday as a slow-moving system sweeps through eastern Iowa and western Illinois. Temperatures will range from the low 50s north to mid-60s south.

Travelers should prepare for reduced visibility, wet roads, and potential delays during evening commutes Monday and Tuesday. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and monitor local alerts for possible severe weather.
