Communities from Indianapolis to Bloomington and Muncie should monitor for watches or warnings after 2 p.m. Friday. Spotter activation is expected, and residents are urged to charge devices, secure outdoor items, and plan for possible outages or travel disruptions.
Storms will move east-northeast at 40 to 50 mph, making rapid development possible. Rainfall totals could exceed a quarter inch in some areas with locally heavier downpours in thunderstorms. Friday’s high will reach 88°F with southwest wind gusts up to 24 mph.
