Fort Worth, Texas –Storm chances remain low across North Texas Thursday afternoon, but residents in areas northeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex—including Sherman and Paris—should stay alert for isolated severe weather through 9 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, a 20% chance of storms continues into the evening, with the strongest potential for severe activity between 5 and 9 p.m. A strong atmospheric cap is limiting broader development, but any storm that forms could bring large hail.
Cities including Sherman (high 83°F) and Paris (86°F) fall within the primary risk area, where a brief thunderstorm could turn severe. DFW and areas farther south like Waco and Killeen are expected to stay quiet, although high clouds will blanket much of the region tonight. Overnight lows will dip into the 60s and 70s, offering mild conditions for most.
Drivers in northeast Texas should monitor local updates and be prepared to move indoors quickly if storms develop. No widespread disruptions are expected, but isolated cells could produce damaging hail.
Storm chances drop off tonight, though additional updates are possible if conditions change.
