Wichita, Kansas – Temperatures across Kansas will climb back into the 80s by Thursday, setting the stage for a warm and breezy end to the workweek — but thunderstorms could disrupt weekend plans starting late Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, overnight lows will hover between 54 and 66 degrees tonight, with the southeast corner of the state remaining the warmest. Highs on Thursday and Friday will range from 81 to 87 degrees across most of the region under mostly sunny skies.
Winds are expected to stay breezy, especially during the evening hours, which may elevate fire danger in western counties. Wichita, Hutchinson, and Salina will all enjoy dry conditions through Friday.
Rain chances increase Saturday night into Sunday, particularly in south-central and eastern Kansas, where strong storms may develop. Localized downpours and lightning are possible, prompting early travel caution on I-35 and US-54 corridors.
Residents are encouraged to monitor changing conditions, secure outdoor items, and review severe weather plans heading into the weekend.
Storm chances continue into Sunday, with daytime highs still reaching 80 degrees. More updates will follow as the weekend system develops.
