Arkansas State Police Investigate I-40 Shooting of Motorcyclist Near Morrilton

Morrilton, AR – A 58-year-old Morrilton man was shot while riding his motorcycle on Interstate 40 Tuesday night, prompting Arkansas State Police to seek the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

According to Arkansas State Police, the shooting occurred around 9:46 p.m. Tuesday near the 104-mile marker of I-40 in Conway County. The victim, who was traveling eastbound, felt something strike the back of his helmet and pulled over to the shoulder, where he realized he had been shot.

Authorities said the man was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Investigators have not released any details about a possible suspect or vehicle and are urging anyone who may have been traveling in the area at that time to come forward with information. Troopers believe dashcam footage or eyewitness accounts could be vital in solving the case.

State police are continuing their investigation and have asked anyone with tips to contact them directly.
