Milwaukee, Wis. – Drivers across southeast Wisconsin should expect dense fog and strong storms to complicate Thursday’s plans from early morning through late evening. With visibility dropping below a quarter mile and the chance for large hail and tornadoes, this is a day to stay alert and reconsider non-essential travel.
According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. CDT Thursday for Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Ozaukee, and Sheboygan counties. Fog is especially thick near Lake Michigan and along major roadways like I-94 and I-43. Storm chances rise sharply after 1 p.m. Thursday, with a level 3 out of 5 risk for severe weather.
Scattered thunderstorms could bring damaging wind gusts over 40 mph, large hail, and even an isolated tornado. Spotters may be activated Thursday afternoon and evening as a precaution.
Friday brings some relief with sunny skies and a high near 77°F, though breezy conditions could still gust up to 25 mph. Weekend weather remains mostly clear with highs in the mid to upper 60s, but another round of showers is possible late Sunday into Monday.
