Mount Holly, N.J. – A warm, sun-filled Sunday across New Jersey will give way to increasing clouds Monday, followed by a significant return of rain and possible thunderstorms through midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, dry conditions will persist into early Monday with temperatures climbing into the upper 70s to low 80s. However, cloud cover will build throughout the day as moisture moves in from the west, bringing a 70% chance of showers beginning Tuesday and continuing into Wednesday.

Rainfall could be locally heavy at times, with isolated thunderstorms possible from Trenton to Atlantic City. Commuters in the Camden and Cherry Hill areas should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility during morning and evening drives. Parts of northern New Jersey, including Sussex and Warren counties, may see cooler temps in the low 60s alongside persistent rain bands.

Residents are advised to check drainage systems, avoid low-lying areas prone to flooding, and secure outdoor items before showers begin. If using generators during potential thunderstorms, ensure proper ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide risks.

Rain chances are expected to taper by late Wednesday, but forecasters say more unsettled weather could follow later in the week. Updates will be issued as needed.
