Shreveport, Louisiana – Warm and muggy conditions will dominate much of north Louisiana and Deep East Texas on Friday, with afternoon rain and storm chances threatening to disrupt late-day plans. Cities like Jena and Monroe could see rain chances top 50% by 3 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s across the region, while scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected primarily during the afternoon hours. Rain probabilities are highest in eastern Louisiana, peaking at 55% in Jena, 49% in Monroe, and 43% in Natchitoches.

Further west, Shreveport holds a 22% chance of rain, with slightly lower chances in Tyler, Longview, and Lufkin. The greatest risk for storms aligns along a zone stretching from Jonesboro to Hemphill, Texas. Despite warm temperatures, outdoor activities could be disrupted in areas where downpours develop.

Drivers should remain alert for wet roads and brief gusty winds in stronger cells. Consider delaying outdoor events or travel through mid-afternoon, especially in areas with higher rain probabilities.

Warm temperatures and unstable air may linger into the weekend, with additional updates expected later today if storm coverage increases.
