Northern Indiana – Warm, spring-like conditions will dominate Northern Indiana this week, with temperatures climbing into the upper 70s to low 80s. However, a stalled frontal boundary near Lake Michigan will bring a chance for scattered showers today, particularly north of US 6.
According to the National Weather Service, the best chance for rain will be in the morning and early afternoon hours, with a 20-30% likelihood of showers. Highs will reach 74-78°F, making for a pleasant but slightly humid day.
Thursday will be the warmest day of the year so far, with plenty of sunshine and highs soaring between 78-83°F. The dry conditions will hold through Thursday, but rain and storms will return Friday, especially in the afternoon and evening as a cold front moves through.
Rain could arrive before daybreak on Friday, with the most intense storms expected in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will drop to a cooler 69-76°F, and breezy conditions will add to the unsettled weather.
Saturday brings a significant shift, with partly cloudy skies and much cooler temperatures, ranging from 57-64°F. Be prepared for a chilly weekend after the storms pass.
