Pendleton, Oregon – Oregon’s Easter weekend will kick off with mild and pleasant spring temperatures on Friday and Saturday. However, a weak cold front is expected to move through, bringing cooler and more seasonable conditions on Sunday and Monday. Highs will remain moderate across the region, but overnight lows could dip significantly in some areas, especially on Sunday and Monday mornings.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), maximum temperatures in cities like Kennewick and The Dalles will climb into the 70s on Friday, with Saturday seeing similar warmth. As the cold front arrives on Sunday, highs will drop by about 10 degrees, with most cities seeing highs in the 50s and low 60s.

Overnight lows will be chilly, with temperatures near freezing in some areas like Joseph and John Day, where lows could drop into the upper 20s. While a light freeze is not expected, residents should still prepare for cooler mornings.

The forecast does not indicate any freezing temperatures overnight that could damage early spring plants, so Easter egg hunts in the morning should not be impacted by any late-season frost.

The cooler temperatures are expected to last through the weekend, with a gradual warming trend anticipated by Tuesday.
