State College, PA – A volatile spring weather system will sweep into central Pennsylvania starting Monday afternoon, bringing thunderstorms, gusty winds, and travel disruptions through Tuesday night.

According to the National Weather Service, rain and thunderstorms are expected to begin after 5 p.m. Monday in State College. Breezes will increase as south winds shift up to 13 mph Monday night, with gusts reaching 17 mph by Tuesday afternoon. Drivers on U.S. Route 322 should be cautious of wet road conditions and reduced visibility during commutes, especially through Tuesday evening.

Showers will continue through Tuesday night, with a 70% chance of rainfall and possible minor accumulation. Winds may make conditions feel cooler than the forecasted 54°F high on Tuesday.

By Wednesday, skies will begin to clear with partly sunny weather and a high near 45°F. Frost conditions could return overnight as lows drop to around 31°F under mostly clear skies.
