Mississippi Tornado Update: EF-1 Tornado Strikes Hebron Early Sunday Morning

Hebron, MS – A brief EF-1 tornado touched down in Hebron, Mississippi early Sunday morning, April 6, 2025, causing localized damage across the northern portion of the town. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the tornado struck at 2:51 a.m. CDT, lasting only one minute before dissipating. The tornado’s maximum winds reached 95 mph, and its path spanned 1.37 miles with a width of 300 yards.

Straight-line winds, reaching speeds as high as 75 mph, also impacted the area, causing additional damage. The brief tornado occurred along Rodeo and Sonat Roads in northern Hebron.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or fatalities from the storm. The NWS completed a damage survey on Wednesday, April 9, confirming the tornado’s EF-1 rating, the lowest on the Enhanced Fujita scale. Local emergency management teams, aided by community reports, assisted in the storm survey to help document the event’s impact.
