Cleveland, OH — A round of thunderstorms is expected to roll through northeast Ohio beginning late Saturday, bringing potential hazards to travel and outdoor plans.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, scattered showers and thunderstorms could begin as early as 5 p.m. Saturday and continue into Sunday morning, with gusts of wind reaching up to 28 mph. Although forecast confidence remains low in the potential for severe storms, a few strong systems cannot be ruled out. Residents along the I-90 corridor, including Cleveland and surrounding cities, should remain weather-aware through Sunday night.
The weekend starts mild, with Cleveland seeing a high near 71°F on Saturday before rain chances spike to 80% in the evening. Overnight lows dip to the mid-50s, and conditions remain wet into Sunday, where another high near 68°F is expected alongside widespread showers. Monday stays rainy with highs in the mid-50s.
Looking ahead, drier air begins pushing into the region by Tuesday, with clearer skies and highs nearing 60°F by Wednesday. However, another round of showers is likely to return late Wednesday night into Thursday.
