Pittsburgh Weather Alert: Snow Showers and Cold Nights Expected Through Wednesday Evening

Pittsburgh, PA — A quick burst of winter weather is returning to western Pennsylvania as cold temperatures and light snow showers move through the region tonight and continue into Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service Pittsburgh, partly to mostly cloudy skies are forecast Tuesday night, with a chance of light rain or snow showers, especially near Morgantown, WV and areas north of Interstate 80. Overnight lows will drop to the upper 20s and low 30s in cities like Butler, DuBois, and Indiana, PA.

Wednesday will remain chilly, with high temperatures ranging from the upper 30s to low 40s across most of western Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh is expected to see a high of 41°F and a low of 32°F, while areas such as Oil City and New Castle will dip below freezing.

Drivers are urged to use caution during the Wednesday morning commute, as slick spots may develop overnight, especially in higher elevations. Residents should also check local school delays or closures in rural counties.

Conditions are expected to improve Thursday as highs climb back into the 50s. A significant warm-up is forecast by the weekend, with temperatures reaching the upper 60s to low 70s by Saturday.
