Shreveport, LA — Severe weather is expected to impact much of north Louisiana from Sunday afternoon through early Monday morning, with damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes all possible.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, a strong cold front moving through the region will trigger thunderstorms across the Four-State area, including parts of Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The highest risk of severe storms lies near and southeast of the I-30 corridor, especially around Shreveport, Natchitoches, and Ruston.
The threat level has been designated as “Slight Risk” (Level 2 of 5), with storms potentially producing wind gusts strong enough to cause damage. Forecasters also warn of the chance for isolated tornadoes and locally heavy downpours.
Rainfall totals could range from a trace up to 1.5 inches, especially in Deep East Texas and into northern Louisiana. Cities like Center, TX, and Natchitoches, LA, may see the highest amounts.
Residents are urged to monitor weather alerts, secure outdoor items, and review emergency plans. Power outages and localized flooding are possible in low-lying areas. The threat window extends from Sunday afternoon into the early hours of Monday.
