Memphis, TN – Spring weather in Tennessee will bring a mix of sunshine, rain, and storms this week, with midweek thunderstorms and strong winds expected to impact travel.
According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday night will see a slight chance of showers before midnight, followed by thunderstorms after 1 a.m. The chance of precipitation is 80%, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch possible. South winds will increase to 10 mph, making for a breezy night.
Thursday morning storms could disrupt morning commutes, especially along I-40 and I-55. Winds will shift west-southwest by the afternoon, bringing clearing skies and a high of 74°F. Rainfall could range from a tenth to a quarter of an inch, with heavier amounts in thunderstorms.
By Friday, Memphis will see mostly sunny skies, but scattered afternoon showers remain possible. A high near 80°F is expected, with gusty winds reaching up to 35 mph.
Looking ahead, Saturday and Sunday will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 70s, cooling into the 40s at night. Monday will bring sunshine and a comfortable high of 67°F.
