Pueblo, CO – A blizzard warning remains in effect for Northern El Paso County, including Black Forest, until 3 p.m. MST Tuesday, as heavy snowfall and extreme winds continue to impact the region.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pueblo, an additional 2 to 6 inches of snow is expected, accompanied by wind gusts reaching up to 70 mph. The combination of snowfall and high winds is causing widespread blowing snow, significantly reducing visibility and making travel hazardous.

Officials warn that road conditions will be treacherous, particularly during the Tuesday morning commute. Drivers are urged to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary. If travel is unavoidable, motorists should carry a winter survival kit and be prepared for rapidly deteriorating conditions. The storm may also cause extensive tree damage due to the strength of the winds.

Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. If stranded, the NWS recommends staying with your vehicle and calling 511 for updated road conditions in your area.

The blizzard warning is expected to expire at 3 p.m. Tuesday, but conditions may remain hazardous as lingering winds and cold temperatures persist. Travelers and residents should stay informed with the latest updates from the NWS and local authorities.
