Cheyenne, WY – A powerful winter storm will move through Wyoming and Nebraska Monday, bringing snow, strong winds, and cold temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Cheyenne, rain will change to snow by Monday evening. The heaviest snowfall is expected along and north of the I-80 corridor between Laramie and Sidney. Some areas could see 6 to 12 inches of snow.
Gusty north-to-northwest winds will create hazardous conditions, including reduced visibility and drifting snow. NWS warns that travel could be difficult Monday night into Tuesday, especially in higher elevations and open areas.
Forecasters say the storm’s exact track remains uncertain. A slightly farther south path could shift snowfall totals, but strong winds and colder temperatures are expected regardless.
Residents should prepare for winter driving conditions and monitor weather updates. Travelers along I-80 should check for road closures or restrictions.
