Corpus Christi, TX – A dense fog advisory has been issued for coastal and inland areas of South Texas, creating hazardous conditions for drivers and boaters from midnight Friday through Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Corpus Christi and Brownsville, visibility is expected to drop to less than a quarter mile in affected areas, making travel and navigation difficult. The advisory covers multiple regions, including Corpus Christi, Victoria, Rockport, Port Aransas, Brownsville, and South Padre Island. Coastal waters from Baffin Bay to the Matagorda Ship Channel, as well as the Laguna Madre and nearshore Gulf waters, are also under advisory.

The dense fog will persist from midnight until 9 a.m. CST in most areas, with some locations along the southern coast, including Brownsville and Laguna Madre, experiencing reduced visibility until noon. Motorists are urged to use low-beam headlights, drive cautiously, and maintain extra distance between vehicles. Mariners are advised to use fog signals, ensure running lights are on, and rely on radar and navigation tools.

The fog is expected to dissipate as temperatures rise later in the day. Travelers should monitor weather updates and exercise caution during early morning hours.
