Detroit, MI – A mix of rain and snow is expected to impact southeast Michigan today, bringing potentially slick conditions for evening commuters. Light snow accumulation is possible, primarily north of the I-94 corridor.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, a wintry mix will develop this afternoon and continue into tonight. Areas along the M-59 and I-69 corridors could see a slushy inch of snow, while areas further north are expected to receive less than an inch. Rain will be the dominant precipitation type closer to Detroit and the southern portion of the region.

Drivers are advised to use caution as temperatures drop, leading to the potential for icy patches on untreated roadways. While significant snowfall is not expected, slushy and wet roads could create hazardous travel conditions during the evening commute.

Looking ahead, no additional hazardous weather is forecast through early next week, with calmer conditions expected from Thursday onward.

Residents should stay informed of any updates from the National Weather Service and allow extra travel time as conditions may vary throughout the region.
