MILWAUKEE, WI – Warm sunshine will give way to cooler temperatures and unsettled skies across Milwaukee this week, with daytime highs falling 18 degrees by Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The temperature change follows an unusually warm Columbus Day, while scattered showers could affect travel across Milwaukee County later in the week.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will reach approximately 80 degrees Monday, Oct. 12, before dropping to 72 Tuesday and 62 Wednesday.
Rain chances increase Thursday, Oct. 15, when showers carry a 50% probability. Wet pavement could affect travel along Interstate 94, Interstate 43 and Interstate 41 if rainfall develops.
Before the cooler weather arrives, Sunday, Oct. 11, brings sunny skies and a high near 73 degrees. South winds will remain around 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday night turns increasingly cloudy, with temperatures dropping near 59 degrees.
Columbus Day remains mostly sunny and warm, with afternoon temperatures reaching 80 degrees. Southwest winds should remain near 10 mph, providing favorable conditions for outdoor holiday activities.
However, showers and thunderstorms become possible Monday night, particularly before 1 a.m. Tuesday. The precipitation chance reaches 40%, with overnight temperatures near 63 degrees.
Tuesday, Oct. 13, brings mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures near 72 degrees. West winds could reach 15 mph before shifting northwest.
Wednesday remains partly sunny, with a slight 20% chance of showers and a high near 62 degrees.
Five Day Outlook: Thursday, Oct. 15, brings a 50% chance of showers, cloudy conditions and temperatures near 62 degrees.
Friday turns breezy, with a high near 59 degrees and a 20% chance of showers.
Saturday, Oct. 17, becomes cooler, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 53 degrees.
Residents should prepare for changing temperatures and monitor updated forecasts before Thursday travel.
