Milwaukee, WI – Southeastern Wisconsin could see its first snowflakes of the season in some communities ahead of Thanksgiving as colder temperatures move into the region late next week, bringing the possibility of rain mixing with snow by Thursday night, Nov. 12, and Friday, Nov. 13.
According to National Weather Service forecasts available Saturday, Nov. 7, the Milwaukee area could experience a noticeable temperature shift as overnight lows approach freezing and precipitation chances return toward the end of the week.
Colder Weather Arrives Before Thanksgiving
With Thanksgiving approaching Thursday, Nov. 26, southeastern Wisconsin is entering a period when early season winter weather becomes increasingly possible.
However, the immediate forecast remains relatively mild.
Milwaukee and surrounding communities are expected to experience mostly sunny conditions Sunday through Tuesday, with afternoon temperatures climbing from the upper 50s to around 60 degrees.
By Thursday night, temperatures could fall to approximately 32 degrees, creating conditions where rain could mix with snow.
The National Weather Service indicates a slight chance of rain and snow Thursday night, followed by another slight chance Friday as temperatures reach around 46 degrees.
Milwaukee and Surrounding Communities
The colder pattern could affect communities across Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington and Racine counties.
However, the available forecast specifically identifies mixed precipitation potential near Milwaukee, and conditions may vary across southeastern Wisconsin.
Will Snow Accumulate Before Thanksgiving?
At this stage, the forecast does not indicate significant snowfall accumulation.
The chance of precipitation remains limited, and temperatures during the day are expected to remain above freezing.
Still, overnight temperatures near 32 degrees could allow a few wet snowflakes to develop if precipitation arrives while colder air is in place.
Drivers should monitor conditions during the overnight and early morning hours, particularly if temperatures fall below freezing.
Residents are encouraged to follow updated National Weather Service forecasts as southeastern Wisconsin approaches its next opportunity for early season winter weather.
