MILWAUKEE — November will begin mild across southeast Wisconsin before a wetter stretch develops early this week, with Milwaukee temperatures climbing into the upper 60s Tuesday before rain becomes widespread Tuesday night and Wednesday.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for a high near 63 Sunday, Nov. 1, under mostly cloudy skies. Monday stays mild near 62 with a 50% chance of showers, mainly between noon and 5 p.m.
68° Warmth Arrives Tuesday Monday night turns wetter, with showers likely before midnight and precipitation chances increasing to 70% . Temperatures remain unusually mild, falling only to around 55.
Tuesday becomes the warmest day in the current forecast. The Weather Service calls for a high near 68 degrees , with south winds around 15 mph and gusts reaching about 30 mph. Showers become increasingly likely during the afternoon.
That gives Milwaukee a notable early November stretch of 63 Sunday, 62 Monday and 68 Tuesday , keeping winterlike daytime temperatures out of the picture for the start of the month.
Rain Peaks Tuesday Night Into Wednesday The wettest period arrives Tuesday night.
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm are forecast, with precipitation chances climbing to 80% . The Weather Service indicates rainfall amounts between one quarter and one half inch are possible during the night.
Wednesday remains unsettled with showers likely, a 70% precipitation chance and a high near 62. Rain chances then fall to 30% Wednesday night and 40% Thursday before decreasing further into Friday and Saturday.
Temperatures also gradually step down, with highs near 59 Thursday and about 55 Friday and Saturday.
Warm but Drier Signal Nov. 8–14 The first week rain does not necessarily represent the second week pattern.
NOAA's November precipitation outlook favors a wetter tendency across parts of the Upper Midwest, but the separate Nov. 8–14 outlook shifts toward below normal precipitation across a broad region extending through the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes.
At the same time, the broader temperature outlook continues to favor above normal temperatures through Nov. 14 across the Great Lakes and Midwest. The desk guidance specifically identifies the combination of warmth and a drier second week tendency as the key regional story.
That does not mean Milwaukee will be rain free or warm every day during Nov. 8–14. It means average temperatures are favored above normal while total precipitation is tilted below normal.
For Milwaukee, the immediate message is straightforward: mild early November weather, a 68° Tuesday, then a wet Nov. 3–4 before conditions trend cooler and quieter later in the week.
As Thanksgiving and holiday travel season approach, the bigger question is how long November warmth can keep a sustained taste of winter waiting.
