Lake Geneva, WI – A popular fall celebration returns to downtown Lake Geneva this weekend, bringing three days of Oktoberfest festivities, live entertainment, German inspired food and a temporary road closure that drivers should prepare for before heading downtown.
According to the City of Lake Geneva Fire Department , the annual Oktoberfest celebration begins Friday, October 9, 2026, with a new pre festival crawl from 5 to 8 p.m., followed by the main festivities Saturday and Sunday.
The celebration will take place at Flat Iron Park and throughout the Downtown Business District in Lake Geneva, Walworth County, a popular destination for visitors from southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
Saturday's festivities run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., while Sunday's events are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visitors can expect traditional German inspired food, live music, polka dancing and an artisan market featuring local vendors.
Among the weekend's attractions is a stein hoisting competition, challenging participants to see how long they can hold a beer stein.
The festival will also feature the Little Leg Races, where dachshunds and corgis compete in races benefiting charity.
Organizers are encouraging attendees to gather friends and family for the weekend celebration.
However, motorists should anticipate traffic changes downtown.
The fire department announced that Wrigley Drive will be closed between Broad Street and Center Street during the festivities.
