La Crosse, WI – Residents across western Wisconsin should prepare for a sharp temperature swing over the next several days, with overnight lows potentially dropping near 20 degrees Friday night before a warming trend sends afternoon temperatures into the lower 60s by Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, a stretch of wet weather is coming to an end as a drier weather pattern settles across the region Friday, November 6, and continues through much of next week.
Friday will bring cooler conditions, with afternoon highs ranging from 44 to 48 degrees across the forecast area.
Temperatures are expected to fall significantly overnight, with lows ranging from 20 to 30 degrees, creating freezing conditions across many communities.
The chilly start to the weekend will gradually give way to warmer weather.
Saturday's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and afternoon highs between 47 and 53 degrees, with overnight lows ranging from 32 to 40 degrees.
By Sunday, November 8, temperatures will begin climbing more noticeably, with highs reaching 53 to 58 degrees.
The most significant warming is expected Monday, when afternoon temperatures could reach 58 to 64 degrees across the region.
That represents a substantial change from Friday night's cold conditions, with some locations potentially experiencing a difference of more than 40 degrees between overnight lows and Monday afternoon highs.
Monday is also expected to feature partly sunny skies, providing favorable conditions for outdoor activities and travel.
Tuesday's forecast remains relatively mild, with highs ranging from 52 to 59 degrees and overnight lows between 28 and 38 degrees.
The National Weather Service expects the drier weather pattern to continue through much of next week, offering relief following the region's recent wet conditions.
Residents heading outdoors Friday night and early Saturday should prepare for freezing temperatures, particularly in colder inland and rural communities.
