La Crosse, WI – A prolonged stretch of wet weather is moving into western Wisconsin Monday, November 2, with widespread rainfall near 1 inch expected through midweek. Scattered thunderstorms could also develop as rain spreads eastward, potentially affecting Election Day travel and outdoor activities.
According to the National Weather Service NWS in La Crosse, rain will expand from west to east Monday morning, with precipitation chances continuing through Wednesday. Forecasters expect above normal temperatures early in the week before cooler conditions arrive.
Rain and Thunder Could Affect Election Day Monday will bring widespread showers and occasional thunder, with afternoon temperatures ranging from 59 to 66 degrees.
Rain chances remain elevated Tuesday, November 3, as voters head to polling locations for Election Day.
Temperatures Tuesday could reach 64 to 71 degrees, making it one of the warmer days of the week despite continued rainfall.
The NWS expects approximately 1 inch of rain across much of the forecast area through midweek, although actual totals may vary by location.
Wet roads, reduced visibility during heavier showers and occasional thunderstorms could affect travel throughout the region.
Cooler Temperatures Arrive Later This Week Wednesday will bring another opportunity for rain, with daytime temperatures falling into the 52 to 60 degree range.
Conditions gradually improve Thursday as temperatures reach 50 to 58 degrees, with partly cloudy skies expected.
By Friday, temperatures could drop further, with highs between 47 and 54 degrees and overnight lows falling into the 30s.
The changing conditions mark a transition from the unusually mild start to November toward more seasonable late autumn weather.
Residents across La Crosse County and surrounding western Wisconsin communities should monitor updated forecasts, particularly when traveling Tuesday and Wednesday.
