Green Bay, WI – Cooler temperatures and gusty west winds are returning to northern and central Wisconsin Thursday, October 29, before another chance of rain arrives Saturday, potentially affecting Halloween plans across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, Thursday will bring partly cloudy skies across far northern Wisconsin and mostly sunny conditions farther south, with west winds gusting as high as 25 mph.
Afternoon temperatures are expected to range from 51 to 63 degrees across the forecast area, bringing a cooler feel to communities including Green Bay, Appleton, Wausau and surrounding locations.
The combination of breezy conditions and cooler temperatures could make outdoor activities feel noticeably different from recent warmer weather.
Halloween Rain Chances Increase Saturday
Friday, October 30, is expected to bring partly cloudy skies with afternoon temperatures ranging from 53 to 59 degrees.
However, the forecast changes heading into Halloween on Saturday, October 31.
The National Weather Service indicates a 20% to 40% chance of precipitation across the region, with temperatures reaching between 57 and 62 degrees.
While widespread heavy rainfall is not indicated in the current forecast, scattered showers could affect trick or treating, outdoor celebrations and other Halloween activities.
Families planning evening events may want to keep rain jackets or umbrellas available and monitor updated forecasts for more precise timing.
The forecast does not yet specify which communities have the greatest likelihood of rain or whether showers will coincide with peak trick or treating hours.
Warmer Temperatures Arrive Sunday
By Sunday, November 1, temperatures are expected to climb further, with highs ranging from 60 to 66 degrees.
Mostly cloudy skies are forecast as the region experiences a milder finish to the weekend.
Residents should continue monitoring National Weather Service updates as Halloween approaches, particularly for changes in Saturday's precipitation timing and coverage.
