Green Bay, WI — Residents across Green Bay, Brown County and northeastern Wisconsin should prepare for a noticeable temperature drop this week as periods of rain and gusty winds give way to much cooler conditions by Friday, Nov. 6.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, unsettled weather will continue Tuesday night through Thursday, with occasional rain showers and breezy conditions before drier weather gradually returns Friday afternoon.
Tuesday night, Nov. 3, will bring additional periods of rain, with overnight temperatures remaining unusually mild for early November. Lows are expected to range from 55 to 60 degrees across the forecast area.
Wednesday, Nov. 4, will bring the warmest temperatures of the remaining week, with afternoon highs ranging from 60 to 66 degrees.
However, residents should expect occasional showers and breezy conditions throughout the day.
South winds could gust to approximately 25 mph, particularly in exposed locations, creating additional challenges for drivers and residents spending time outdoors.
Thursday, Nov. 5, will mark the beginning of a more significant cooldown.
Afternoon temperatures are forecast to reach only 45 to 55 degrees, considerably cooler than Wednesday's highs. Additional rain showers will remain possible across northeastern Wisconsin.
By Friday, Nov. 6, temperatures could fall into the lower 40s during the afternoon, with forecast highs ranging from 41 to 48 degrees.
That represents a substantial change from the unusually mild conditions earlier in the week.
A slight chance of rain will remain Friday before conditions gradually dry out during the afternoon and into Saturday, Nov. 7.
The National Weather Service expects cooler air to settle across the region late this week, bringing temperatures closer to typical November conditions.
Although Friday will feel considerably colder, the supplied forecast does not indicate significant snowfall or a widespread freezing weather event.
Residents should monitor updated forecasts and prepare for changing road conditions during periods of rain.
