Green Bay, WI – A sharp weekend warmup will send temperatures toward 80 degrees across northeast Wisconsin Saturday and Sunday, following a much cooler Thursday when some northern locations could see patchy frost early.
The National Weather Service in Green Bay said temperatures will remain above normal through the weekend and peak Saturday and Sunday. Forecast highs range from 77 to 81 degrees Saturday and 76 to 81 Sunday.
Before the warmup, Wednesday will be breezy with highs from 64 to 72 degrees. Wind gusts could reach 30 to 35 mph.
Temperatures turn cooler Thursday, with highs ranging from 59 to 67 degrees. Patchy frost is possible across northern Wisconsin early Thursday morning, according to the NWS.
Friday begins the warming trend as highs recover to between 66 and 70 degrees. Most locations should remain dry, although the NWS indicates a low chance of a passing shower Friday afternoon or evening across east central Wisconsin.
The more dramatic temperature change follows Saturday. Highs could jump by more than 10 degrees from Friday in some parts of the forecast area, reaching the upper 70s to around 81 degrees.
Saturday will also turn breezy again, with gusts of 30 to 35 mph possible. Sunday remains warm, with highs again reaching the upper 70s to around 81.
Despite the brief Friday shower chance, the NWS expects predominantly dry conditions through the weekend. Residents should expect Thursday to be the coolest day of the period before temperatures climb rapidly, culminating in an unusually warm weekend with highs potentially reaching the lower 80s.
