Green Bay, WI – Northeastern Wisconsin could experience unusually warm late October temperatures Wednesday, October 28, with some communities approaching record highs before showers and thunderstorms arrive overnight as a cold front moves through the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, unseasonably warm air will push afternoon temperatures into the upper 60s and lower to middle 70s Wednesday, potentially challenging daily temperature records at several locations.
Highs across the forecast area are expected to range from approximately 65 to 74 degrees, considerably warmer than typical late October conditions.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies will prevail through much of Wednesday, with some late day sunshine possible before conditions become more unsettled.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely Wednesday night , as an approaching cold front moves across northeastern Wisconsin.
The frontal passage will bring a noticeable temperature change, replacing Wednesday's unusual warmth with cooler, more seasonable conditions heading into Halloween weekend.
By Thursday, October 29, afternoon temperatures are expected to range from 53 to 64 degrees, with clouds gradually decreasing as the weather system moves away.
Friday, October 30, will bring partly cloudy skies and highs between 54 and 61 degrees, offering generally favorable conditions for outdoor activities.
For Halloween on Saturday, October 31, temperatures are expected to reach 57 to 62 degrees across the region.
A slight chance of showers remains in the forecast Saturday, with precipitation probabilities ranging from 15% to 30%.
That means many Halloween activities could remain dry, although isolated showers cannot be ruled out.
Residents across Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Manitowoc and surrounding northeastern Wisconsin communities should prepare for changing conditions Wednesday night.
Motorists may encounter wet pavement and reduced visibility during thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service has not identified a specific severe thunderstorm threat in the supplied forecast.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts as the cold front approaches and Halloween weekend draws closer.
