GREEN BAY, WI – Halloween celebrations across northeastern and north central Wisconsin could turn damp Saturday afternoon and evening as scattered light rain and sprinkles move through the region, potentially affecting families heading outdoors for trick or treating.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, spotty showers are expected throughout portions of Saturday, Oct. 31, although forecasters emphasize that widespread heavy rainfall is not anticipated.
Light Rain Could Affect Trick or Treating The National Weather Service says residents should consider bringing jackets or umbrellas when heading outdoors Saturday afternoon and evening.
Rainfall amounts are expected to remain very light, generally totaling less than one tenth of an inch.
The forecast indicates a slight chance of rain around noon, with shower chances continuing through the afternoon and early evening.
By 3 p.m., temperatures across the forecast area are expected to range from 52 to 58 degrees.
Similar temperatures are forecast around 6 p.m., when many families will be participating in Halloween activities.
While the rain could create damp sidewalks and costumes, forecasters do not expect a complete washout.
Temperatures Drop Into the 40s Tonight As Halloween evening progresses, temperatures will gradually decline across northeastern Wisconsin.
By 9 p.m., readings are forecast between 47 and 52 degrees, making warmer clothing a practical addition to Halloween costumes.
Earlier Saturday morning, temperatures ranged from the upper 30s to around 50 degrees, with afternoon readings becoming noticeably milder.
Families in Green Bay, Brown County and surrounding communities should prepare for occasional light showers rather than continuous rainfall.
Motorists traveling through residential neighborhoods should remain alert for pedestrians, particularly children crossing streets after dark.
Residents planning outdoor Halloween gatherings may want to keep umbrellas nearby and monitor updated local forecasts.
Although scattered showers could interrupt some activities, the National Weather Service expects rainfall totals to remain minimal across the region.
