Green Bay, Wisconsin – Fall begins Tuesday with highs of 59 to 66 degrees across the region after frost developed early in far northern Wisconsin.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, residents can expect a mix of sun and clouds Tuesday, followed by quiet weather through Friday. Another round of frost could develop across north central Wisconsin early Wednesday.
Wednesday will otherwise turn mostly sunny, with afternoon temperatures warming slightly to between 62 and 69 degrees.
The frost potential will remain concentrated north of Green Bay. Residents in colder north central Wisconsin communities with sensitive plants or gardens should pay attention to overnight temperatures and consider protecting vegetation before Wednesday morning.
The region then enters a gradual warming trend during the first days of astronomical fall. Increasing clouds are expected Thursday as highs range from 63 to 68 degrees.
By Friday, partly sunny skies accompany temperatures from 66 to 71 degrees, putting some communities back into the lower 70s after the week's chilly start.
No significant rain is indicated in the Weather Service outlook through Friday. That should leave roads dry for most travelers and provide generally favorable conditions for outdoor activities once the coldest morning temperatures ease.
The arrival of astronomical fall Tuesday coincides with appropriately cool conditions across northeast Wisconsin, but the early frost will not mean steadily falling temperatures this week.
After another potential frosty start Wednesday in north central Wisconsin, daytime temperatures will climb through Friday. Green Bay and surrounding communities can expect predominantly quiet weather, with the warmest readings approaching 70 degrees by the end of the workweek.
